Dramatic Lake Meredith photos taken on 9-10-11
Boat ramp leading to dry land at Lake Meredith
Boat dock once had water surrounding it. Now it is only surrounded by overgrowth
Vegetation surrounds this boat dock at Lake Meredith
Brady Kendrick walks where water a few years ago would have been well over his head
Boat ramp and dock leads to nothing but dry ground
Notice the tiny area of water in the distance.
Boat ramp 500 feet...water 5 miles
At one time, this sign had some usefulness
Soil and vegetation has replaced boats and fisherman.
Like the lake, this dust devil in the distance is dwindling away
From the lack of rain, the lake water is being replaced by dry soil a little more every day
A depressing view from a covered picnic table
The dry land in this photograph used to be under many feet of water at one time
Notice the old fishing lure in the lower left portion of this photo
An old abandoned tackle box at the waters edge
Due to the severity of the drought, this fish didn't have a chance
This old abandoned fishing rod no longer has a use
Due to the receding water, an old rusty boat motor reveals itself
Smiles, laughter, and cooling off in the Texas heat once occured with this roap swing
Despite the irrigation equipment, this field of corn near Spearman, TX could not be saved
